As the sedan market continues to be the backburner choice for consumers, Acura pushes forward and does the unthinkable; manufacturing a sporty sedan with all-wheel drive; power and luxury. Confirming the 2024 Acura TLX Type-S is exactly what consumers in many categories are looking for.
With Acura’s long lasting history of great value, excellent resale prices, luxury and sportiness, the Type-S was easily pushed to the many vehicles in the fleet. While Honda continues to be the mass-market manufacturer of choice in Grasso’s Garage, upscale and big-brother brand Acura holds a large piece of the review pie for certain. Our tester, the 2024 Acura TLX Type-S SH-AWD, boasts a 355 horsepower 3.0-Liter Direct Injection Turbo 6-cylinder engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This winning combination along with Brembro front brake calipers and standard 20-inch wheels, are a hit. Wrapped in Urban Gray with an offsetting red interior, the luxury and sporty flare keeps on lookers staring in the distance.
Standard on our tester was the Acura ELS Studio 3D premium audio system with 17 speakers, surround-view camera system, heads-up display, leather and suede sport seats, sport steering wheel and ventilated front seats. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger and dual climate control were also standard.
In Grasso’s Garage, we thrive on power, luxury, comfort, design and reliability, and with Acura in the stable, we get all of it in one shot. The TLX has always been a fan favorite for its size, appeal and sport-luxury that it offers which entice consumers to the brand and once they experience what Acura has to offer, they historically stay for generations. Adding the Type-S and all-wheel drive to the menu, eating good is an understatement. As I have said before, Acura knows how to keep their niche of consumers happy and the Type-S is just another confirmation that brand is always interested in consumer feedback and ensuring delivery of what consumers want. As you know my deep range of ownership in the Acura brand is no secret, including a TSX, TL, RDX, MDX, ZDX and TLX, I truly believe Acura is at the height of its production game and the TLX Type-S is just the ticket for many.
